Mariliis Tael-Oeren recently joined the Dovetailed team as a UX Researcher. As the autumn sunshine streams through our office windows, we sit down for 5 minutes to find out a little more about Mariliis and what makes her tick.
"My role at Dovetailed involves doing UX research. It is such a great way to apply my knowledge and experience from behavioural sciences.
What I really like about working at Dovetailed is that the work pace is quick, topics vary, and the sky is not the limit.
I would like to invent a flying bed in a weatherproof, turbulence resistant, transparent bubble that would take you anywhere, anytime.
I really admire people who dare to dream big, act on it and contribute to a better future. If I’d have to pick one name… Elon Musk.
My favourite piece of tech is my phone that connects me to a world of possibilities. Want to fly a drone? Done. Want to startle your husband by remotely starting Roomba? Done as well.
My proudest professional achievement is transforming my work in alcohol use prevention into a PhD thesis, which I will defend in less than 10 days. Yikes!
If I were an animal, I would be a fox. They are amazingly adaptable and look so elegant.
The best thing about living in Cambridge is the weather – there is the possibility to see sun almost every day.
When I am not at work, you can find me at the gym, walking in nature or fighting mystical creatures in creepy dungeons.
I am a tea drinker which I love non-black and in a big mug."
