I would never have imagined a 3-D food printer being invented. After learning about nüfood, I would like to invent recipes for it. Maybe a mole negro, a variety of delicious bitters for cocktails , a giant 3D peach, and the infamous Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans from Harry Potter.

I admire all the incredibly undervalued work that non-profits are doing to make this world a better place however cliche that may sound. There are some great organizations that are trying to leverage technology for social good and others that are trying to make healthcare work for everyone.

I am also a big fan of all the leaders in ethical AI. The AI field will need to build this sector faster than the growth that is currently happening.

If by technology we mean the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. Then I would say my favourite pieces of tech are my Shun Chefs Knife, eye glasses (important for not cutting myself) and my fully electric car.

I studied animal behavior and focused on primate species. I was lucky enough to work with an organization that studied tool use behavior and learning in Chimpanzees in West Africa and I find primates in general fascinating creatures. However, if I could be any animal, I would be a member of the corvid species. For one, I would love to be able to take flight like a bird. They are also incredibly smart and able to adapt quickly to change.

The best thing about living in Seattle is hands down the endless exploration of places to eat. I love a good food scene, seafood, and Washington's amazing farms and locally grown produce. I would also have to say its proximity to some great hiking, beautiful lakes and snow capped volcanoes.

When I am not at work, I like to spend time with my family, travel, eat, play piano, and eat some more. When spring comes, I will be working on building a greenhouse, chicken coop and growing as much food as I can in my small backyard.

I could easily talk about how proud I am of my daughter, Isabel. She amazes me every single day. She loves people, will regularly hug strangers and is one of the best 4 year old dancers I know!

I was a late coffee drinker. I didn’t start drinking coffee until I moved to West Africa and was introduced to the Moka Pot. So, now I only drink espresso neat with a seltzer back. Luckily, here in Seattle you can find deliciously made espresso that is made to stand alone, without adding milk or water or sugar. Naturally sweet, balanced and complex. I will on occasion diverge and order a dirty chai though!
