5min with Sarah Broderick

Sarah is Creator of Opportunities at Dovetailed, she’s currently busy with our kickstarter for nūfood dining experiences (you can join in the fun here!) She has an MBA from Cambridge and originally hails from Massachusetts, USA. We grabbed her for a quick chat to find out a bit more about what makes her tick!

Working at Dovetailed is fun and collaborative with a bit of organised chaos added in sometimes!

I wish I’d invented the paper bit that goes around takeaway coffee cups. It has become such a must have need for people and it was just such a simple add-on.

To me, start-ups are about creativity, empathy and decisions. I like to see people satisfied in some way by a product, service or event I was part of creating. Continual delivery of remarkable experiences is my ambition.

My athletic career has always brought immense pride: playing field hockey for the US was remarkable as was running in the 2014 Boston Marathon.

My partner is Spanish so I’ve started loving Spanish food. My favourite at the moment is a traditional tortilla with potatoes and onions. There’s a lovely restaurant in Madrid a friend brought me to that did an amazing tortilla with truffles. It was heavenly.

In the kitchen, I’m a bit of a mad scientist. I just take a look in the fridge and the cupboards to see what’s there then the experiments begin.

People worry too much about how to make their next meal interesting. I’m hoping we can make nūfood their go-to for creative ideas

I’m influenced and inspired by the people I spend time with. I’m always amazed by what my friends, colleagues and loved ones get themselves into. Their interests are so varied.

Cambridge is a lovely place to live, work and pursue really great adventures in technology and travel.

Words matter! I always try to make the most of the words I use.

My mum always says the World is your oyster. Get out there, explore and enjoy every moment you can.

I love to travel, exploring new places, near and far, to discover something I hadn’t known or experienced before.

I like my coffee like I like my music; it keeps me going.
